Coleman 9941-768 Road Trip Grill (Blue) Review

We purchased this Road Trip after having a horrible experience with a grill from Cabelas.That grill had the lava rocks that moved every time you moved the grill and besides that the legs fell off.We were looking for something that would have fold under legs and no rocks.The Road Trip saved our camping days.We purchased a bag for it, keep it stored in the belly of the camper and with putting water in the tray below the burners, it is very very easy to clean up.You can place this on the picnic table to cook on or use the fold down legs.We have also discovered that this is the best way to cook grilled onions and potatoes or pork chops or chicken, etc on the griddle. Very very convenient and easy clean up.We both rate this a 5 stars.Great job, Coleman.Signed happy camper, Janet Becker

Product Description:
Tired of taking your funky hibachi to the ballpark every time you want to tailgate? Turn to the Coleman Road Trip Grill, an authentic open-flame grill that packs up compactly for easy transport and storage. The Road Trip Grill offers two powerful, fully adjustable 20,000 BTU burners, along with support for several mix-and-match cooking surfaces, including a drip-through grill, a pancake griddle, and a stove for heating water (the latter two are separately). In addition, the burners are powerful enough for both cold-weather and high-altitude cooking, so you can use the Road Trip Grill in destinations like Green Bay, Denver, and Buffalo, N.Y. Perhaps the coolest feature, however, is the collapsible frame, which holds the grill at a standard cooking level in its open position, but folds up in seconds when it's time to go. There's no easier way to enjoy the versatility of a full-size upright grill and the convenience of a portable unit.

The grill offers a collapsible frame for easy transport.The Road Trip Grill also includes two detachable side tables for grilling and cooking duties, along with a lockable lid for security. Other details include a 285-square-inch cooking surface, convenient storage hooks for cooking utensils, a removable grease drip pan, and easy pushbutton ignition. The grill--which operates on a single disposable 16.4-ounce propane cylinder (not included) or a 20-pound propane tank (purchase of tank hose and tank required)--carries a five-year limited warranty.

Thermos Grill2Go Gas Grill by Char-Broil, Red Review

Thermos Grill2Go Gas Grill by Char-Broil, Red

I live in an apartment and do a lot of tailgating.This is the BEST grill! I get compliments on it all of the time.No one can believe that it actually does what it claims!It has a big enough grill surface to cook for a party but it is small enough to pack up and take with you.It has become the main grill for home and travel.No one even offers to bring their portable anymore.
It heats up very quickly and nothing sticks to the surface.I have used the grill for steaks, burgers, chicken, and to saute mushrooms and onions.I have never used any sort of non-stick agent.It is wonderful!
It cleans up with just hot water in most cases!I love it so much that I am buying another one for my father for Father's Day!

Weber 2005 Model 841001 22 1/2-Inch Performer Charcoal Grill With Touch and Go Propane Ignition Review

Weber 2005 Model 841001 22 1/2 inch Performer Charcoal Grill With Touch and Go Propane Ignition
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have used a Weber One Touch Gold for many years, but the truth of the matter is that in Northern Michigan winter, it is frequently more than I care to attempt to try to get the fire going. Nomatter whether I use the chimney or parrafin starters, that cold wind does not get me enthused to charcoal grill in January.

So my sons gave me a Performer as a surprise gift (Bless those lads!!)! And, like most Weber products, it's a winner.

ASSEMBLY: It took less than twenty minutes for my older son and I to assemble it. The directions are crystal clear, the parts are well and carefully packed, and the only item not included is the small propane container, which is readily available at hardware stores. (Our local Home Depot had four packs for just under $10.00.)

QUALITY: This is a solidly built unit. The kettle bolts to the frame with four large bolts, and the adjoining work surface is similarly attached. While some have complained that it is not as good as its predecessor, I can vouch for the overall quality of design and construction.

PERFORMANCE: With the gift came a demand for "RIBS!!" There were enough people here to warrant a comparison test with my old One Touch Gold. The Performer had a fire ready to go about 8 minutes before the One Touch was ready, and the fire was hotter by over 50 degrees as measured on the thermometers in the handles. (I believe that the air vents at the bottom are larger in the Performer, which would account for this.)

The work surface adjacent to the kettle is worth the additional cost of this unit over the One Touch. No longer is there a need to balance a tray of goodies on the rim of the kettle with one hand, while trying to place food items on the grill with the other. The tip out charcoal storeage bin is another neat feature.

CONCLUSION: I am an admitted Weberholic. I don't think that they make a grill that is less than excellent, and I cannot imagine any feature that a charcoal griller would want on a grill that this unit lacks. So, now there are four Weber Grills on the deck, and while I will still use the gas grills a lot, I know that this coming January will see charcoal grilling in Northern Michigan.

Thanks, Weber!!

ADDENDUM: I got some hardwood charcoal (not briquets!) and have done burgers, chops and steaks. The fire is super hot and lasts about 40 minutes, but the flavor of the meat is superb!!

Padma's Plantation Pacific Beach Dining Chair, Set of 2 Review

Padma's Plantation Pacific Beach Dining Chair, Set of 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I want to start off by first saying that I do not want to sound overly critical of these chairs because I do love them, I just want to give everyone an honest review since I purchased these blind as I could not find a review anywhere on them (so hopefully people will find this review helpful in their decision making process).I have been looking at these chairs for many, many months now.Overstock had them for $169 a piece (yes a piece) and I came close to purchasing them then.I decided it was more than I wanted to pay for a parson chair with a slipcover.Later they were on Amazon.com for $269 for two chairs.I almost purchased them again, because what a deal compared to Overstock!But I am very glad I waited on both of these purchases.I think that these chairs are worth at the most $100 or so per chair, so the current price of $187.85 for two chairs on Amazon.com is a good deal, especially with the free shipping! (and each week Amazon.com seems to discount it more).I can't believe that these chairs originally retailed for about $250+ a piece!

Anyway, for the current price, I do love these chairs.They are smaller than I expected but I do not have a big, grand dining room, so it actually works better for me.They were packed for shipping fairly well, so all 6 chairs arrived in one piece.My only complaints are 1) two of the chairs had spots on the white canvas slipcovers (one spot was small and one not so small).I am going to try to get them out with some soap, but it isn't worth sending the chairs back just for that.I know white canvas will be hard to keep clean in a dining room! (I am going to Scotchguard them), but to start out with spots already on them is kind of a bummer; 2) the legs are kind of cheap.A couple chairs had legs that weren't stained consistently, but as long as I have long slipcovers on them, the non-stained parts of the legs will be covered; and 3) the slipcovers do NOT go down to the ground as they do in the pictures.All six of mine are about 2-3 inches off the ground so the legs do peek out. I think it looks more elegant to have them floor length, but that isn't the way the slipcovers come, so a bit of a bummer.Things I do like about the chairs: 1) the bows on the back are such a nice touch.Makes them unique and classy looking and I think very cute; 2)they are comfortable to sit in (though as I mentioned the chairs are smaller than I thought so if you have big hips, they might not all fit on the seats); 3) they seem to be sturdy chairs; 4) the price (you can't get basic parson chairs for under $100, so if the slipcovers get stained, I am hoping to just buy replacement slipcovers and be able to keep the chairs for a long time;5) once they ship, shipping is quick if you live on the West Coast. The chairs are in Reno, NV, so they arrived in Central California in only 2 days after Amazon shipped them.All in all, I really do love these chairs and for the price, I can put up with my complaints, but if I had paid a lot more for these chairs, I would have been disappointed.

Evenflo BabySuite Signature Playard with Bassinet & Changer Review

Evenflo BabySuite Signature Playard with Bassinet & Changer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have to admit, bought this one purely on looks (ours has a different fabric pattern/color, but the same faux wood).Would not buy again because:

1.Changing table leans to the unsupported side (even with our 8 lb newborn).I assume this will get even worse as the baby gets heavier;

2.Sleep platform severely sags in the middle.We can only position baby in certain places, otherwise his head will end up below his feet;

3.Canopy constantly pops off.The clips are insufficient, and they need to be snapped in after popping off every time we adjust the canopy;

4.Vibration motor rattles against sleep platform.It's loud- had to stuff towels in there to buffer; and

5.Music/sounds are too loud.The lowest setting is disruptive when baby is in light sleep.

Bottom line- looks good, doesn't work so good, overpriced given its shortcomings.Look elsewhere.

Product Description:
Evenflo's BabySuite Signature playard is like buying three great products in one convenient package. The full-size bassinet gives baby a comfortable place to sleep when away from home, the playard is roomy enough to keep baby occupied with toy companions, and the changing table allows you to quickly change baby and get back to your chores. This playard is also quite maneuverable thanks to a combination of lightweight design and heavy duty wheels, which means you can easily move baby from room to room to keep close watch over her. While sturdy when open and in use, the playard folds down quickly and comes with a travel bag, so transporting it to the grandparent's house or taking it along on vacation is no problem. A gender-neutral pattern makes this playard a great choice for any baby. If choosing between Evenflo's BabySuite Classic and this Signature series, there are quite a few differences to note. This playard's changing pad provides storage for diapers and wipes and can be folded back out of the way when not in use. Baby's comfort is increased by the canopy that shades bright light for daytime napping, the premium fabrics that are softer to the touch, the quilted floorboard, and bumper pads in the full-size bassinet. Parents get added convenience with the two mesh pocket organizer and integrated electronics that let them control music, nature sounds, vibration, and even a nightlight in the playard.The changing table is removable so that the pad can be washed. The bassinet that attaches to one end is also removable when you want to give baby full roaming range of the playard. The side walls are durable mesh for air circulation and better visual contact. While Evenflo is already a trusted name for quality, the updated look of the BabySuite Signature will have them known for their design sense as well. Stylized legs and curved edges give the playard a modern look that suits any room, while the gender-neutral Pinebrook pattern makes it a perfect selection for any baby.This playard is meant for babies who are unable to climb out, are less than 35 inches (89 cm) tall, and weigh less than 30 pounds (13.6 kg). The bassinet should not be used with babies who weigh over 15 pounds (6.8 kg), or babies that have begun to push up on their hands and knees. Spills and stains can be treated with cold water and a mild soap and then air dried. Be sure to read all instructions and warnings before using. Adult supervision is recommended at all times when in use.
